The borough of Camden was created in 1965 and Camden Town is its central neighbourhood. Charles Pratt, the first Earl of Camden gave its name to the area. Until the second part of the 19th century Camden Town was considered unattractive area to live in, but the weekly Camden markets vegan to swiftly change this sentiment.

Today the area is featured by many international restaurants with cuisine from all around the world. The night life is colourful and vivid, with many of the most famous and even legendary London pubs located in the area.
