Local Finchley Info

Finchley is among the most popular London areas. It is situated in the northern part of the capital and belongs to the Borough of Barnet. Each part of the three main parts, which form Finchley, has its own town centre – East Finchley, North Finchley and Church End.

The area is well-served by public transport, in fact four underground stations and a number of bus routes make it easily accessible. Here are found 6 secondary schools and 17 primary ones. There also green spaces, such as the beautiful Victoria Park, situated in Church End. It was created to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee.finchley

There are also a number of local places of interest, worth seeing. The Avenue House, for example, is an imposing Victorian estate, which you could not miss, if passing by East End Road. It is listed as Grade II building and houses small museum of the history of writing materials. Another attraction here is St Mary’s at Finchley, which dates back to the 13th century and is an ancient place of worship.  College Farm is the last city farm in Finchley and also is interesting for visitors.

Here is also the place, where ‘Martin Chuzzlewit’ was written by the great novelist Charles Dickens.
